When you love your neighbourhood but have outgrown your dated house, simply renovate!
This 1800 sqft, 1970’s style bungalow in Calgary’s southwest neighbourhood of Lake Bonavista needs a complete overhaul – inside and out – to keep up with its owners as they become empty nesters!
With a 7 month timeline, this project focuses on creating a modern functional space with minimal impact on the clients’ lifestyle. This includes a new front entrance and a complete kitchen redesign which will allow a seamless connection from living space to the beautiful backyard.
The customized front exterior of the home is inspired by the ancient Japanese art of charring timber, using Shou Sugi Ban, providing a unique entrance that is chic, warm and inviting. The new design includes a beautiful central fireplace which will be the focal point of the main living area. And, for sustainability, a triple pane window installation will provide optimum energy efficiency and durability.
Working closely with the ever-talented FORT Architecture, the distinctive design for this custom home combines function and purpose with contemporary style, giving life to the client’s vision.
